What are Power Banks?

Definition of a power bank
Power banks may be defined as portable batteries that use, "circuitry to control any power in and power out." They are able to be charged up in a traditional method by means of a USB cable. The two most widely used power bank battery technologies are as follows:
Lithium-ion: Lithium-Ion batteries have a higher energy density as they are able store more electrical charge in a given volume, and are much cheaper to manufacture- do note that they have issues with aging, as they deteriorate quite rapidly over time.
Lithium-polymer: Lithium-polymer power banks do not suffer from ageing to the same extent as Lithium-Ion batteries, which makes them a better choice, albeit more costly and would not be recommended to someone with a smaller budget.
